Be a Modern Arborist
Asplundh offers a Arboriculture Apprentice Academy which consists of approximately 2 weeks class room time followed by on the job training for 3 months. If you successfully complete your 3 months training you will be employed permanently by Asplundh and will begin your 2 yr Modern Apprenticeship training- this is an NZQA qualification.

What is Arboriculture?
Arboriculture is the science of cultivating trees from the seed to the grave.
What is an Arborist?
Arborists are the professionals who practice arboriculture; combining physical skills and technical knowledge to carefully select, plant and nurture trees. Arborists specialise in all forms of tree work, including tree planting, tree pruning, tree climbing, transplanting, tree removal and treating tree health disorders.

Asplundh is looking for trainee arborists to work in our elevated work platforms (bucket trucks) undertaking work for our loyal customers who range from local councils and power companies to private businesses and the public.
We are searching for trainees to join our team in the Auckland area as Trainee Utility Arborists who are responsible for the Line Clearance of street and park trees across the Auckland region. This work is based in our state of the art elevated work platforms. While there will be some climbing required most of your work will be in the EWP.
Successful candidates will be offered full time employment at the end of this course by Asplundh. Asplundh has a zero drugs policy and candidates will need to undertake a drug test prior to an interview process.
